Mastering the Transition: Blonde to Brunette Made Easy
HOW TO SUCCEED WITH THE COLOR CHANGE
Going from light hair to a darker shade can be just as tricky as going from dark hair to a lighter shade. When you change your color tone, especially from summer blonde highlights to autumn's warm copper or nougat shades, your hair needs the right amount of pigment to achieve a long-lasting, glossy color.
Why do we need to add warm pigments?
When you bleach your hair, pigment is removed from the hair shaft. When dyeing darker after bleaching, we therefore need to add the warm pigments that the bleaching has removed. Even if the goal is a cooler brown shade, this step is crucial for the color to adhere properly and last longer.
How much pigment is needed to make your hair darker?
Let's say you want to achieve a shade of level 7 and your hair is light blonde. In that case, it is best to pre-pigment with a shade of level 8, for example 8.36 (which contains yellow and orange pigments). Mix 30 ml of 8.36 with 20 ml of 5 vol activator (approx. 1.5% hydrogen peroxide) to maximize pigment deposition in the hair shaft.

Follow these steps for and shiny results! ✨
1. Apply the pre-pigmentation, leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse with water.
2. Towel dry your hair and then apply the brown shade you desire.
Leave on for about 20 minutes, depending on the quality of your hair.
3. Feel free to mix 5 vol and 20 vol activator in equal parts to get a deeper color with
3% hydrogen peroxide, which helps create a richer color tone.
