True Color Activator 1000 ml
True Colour Activator is used together with True Colour and True Blond Plex to activate the pigments and control how deeply the colour adheres to the hair.
Available in five strengths: 5 volumes, 10 volumes, 20 volumes, 30 volumes and 40 volumes.
Each volume gives different results – from gentle toning to strong lightening.
Recommendation:
For home use, we do not recommend using anything stronger than 20 vol, as higher strengths are intended for professional use.
Example of mixing ratios:

Toning: 40 g color + 60 g Activator 5 vol.

Permanent color: 40 g color + 30 g Activator 5 vol + 30 g Activator 20 vol

Lightening: 50 g color + 75 g Activator 20 vol.

Gray hair coverage: 50 g color + 50 g Activator 20 vol.
Each bottle contains 1000 ml of Activator, which is enough for several colorings – perfect for both salons and those who color regularly.
Store in a dark place, at room temperature. Lasts up to five years after opening.

True Colour is mixed in different ways depending on whether you are using it for toning, permanent colouring, lightening colour or to cover grey hair.
Toning
- Measure out as much color cream as you need .
- The amount of color cream x 1.5 = the amount of Activator 5 vol .
- Mix the color with Activator 5 vol until the consistency is smooth.
- Apply to towel-dried hair for easy application and leave on for about 15-30 minutes.
Example: 40g color cream + 60g Activator 5 vol.
Permanent
- Measure out as much color cream as you need .
- Amount of color cream x 1.5 = amount of Activator.
- You can make Activator 10 vol by mixing equal parts of 5 vol and 20 vol.
- Mix until the consistency is smooth.
- Apply to towel-dried hair for easy application and leave on for about 15-30 minutes.
Example: 40g color cream + 30g Activator 5 vol + 30g Activator 20 vol.
Enlightening
- Measure out as much color cream as you need .
- The amount of color cream x 1.5 = the amount of Activator 20 vol .
- Mix the color with Activator 20 vol until the consistency is smooth.
- Apply to towel-dried hair for easy application and leave on for about 15-30 minutes.
Example: 50 g color cream + 75 g Activator 20 vol.
Cover gray hair
- Measure out as much color cream as you need .
- Measure out an equal amount of Activator 20 vol .
- Mix the color with Activator 20 vol until the consistency is smooth.
- Apply to towel-dried hair for easy application and leave on for about 15-30 minutes.
Example: 50 g color cream + 50 g Activator 20 vol.
Frequently asked questions
How much hair does one tube of hair dye cover and how long does an opened tube of hair dye last?
One tube of True Colour hair dye contains 100 ml, 1 bottle of Activator contains 150 ml.
This is enough for long, thick hair. We recommend starting by mixing half the tube first and then mixing more if needed.
An opened tube that is properly sealed will last for at least 5 years. Store the tube in a dark place (e.g. in a cupboard or drawer) and at room temperature.
Safety and recommendations
Skin test: Always test the mixture on a small area of skin (e.g. the inside of the arm) to ensure you don't have an allergic reaction.
